My first post

Hey y'all,

Well my name is Brandon. I live in Tremonton with my wife and two kids.  I have a 2 year old son whose name is Linkin and a 2 month old daughter named Nixon.
I attended Dixie State right out of High School. My plan was to go into Mass Communications and become a sports writer.  That was the plan until I looked at the pay scale, which quickly had me changing my mind. I was called on my mission and served in Fort Worth, Texas. When I returned I got a job at Smith Optics in Clearfield, and then I got married. In the last 4 months we have a bought a house and had our baby.  So the last little while has been just a bit busy and I'm finally getting back to school.
I have decided to major in Business.  Being at Smith Optics, and watching all the "Big Wig" managers do their work, I decided that's what I wanted to do. Being married, and having kids has really motivated me to get back to school and finish.  I have noticed the importance of having a degree, and I want to get it as fast as I can.
I really think this class is going to be useful for what I want to do for my career.  A problem I have always had with writing, is not having it sound professional.  I feel that having just these basic principles of writing will help me not only get a job easier but help when I actually have the job. I'm excited to get this class going and see the stuff that I will be able to take from it. Even though I have struggled with writing in the past, I'm going into it with a good attitude, hoping it will pay off.

  1. Brandon, I really enjoyed ready about your journey and the start of your career. I always find it interesting to see how other people view the "big wigs". Best of luck in reaching your career and degree goal.

  2. Brandon, I am in the same boat. After having our third child, I decided to go back to school to become a doctor. I just turned 30 so I'm pretty motivated right now to succeed. Good luck with your endeavors. I'm sure you will enjoy getting into management. It can be very stressful, but can also be a very rewarding career.
